When attempting to join online, if you receive an X against one of the three checks required, there are a number of ways to resolve this.
If there is no access to the mic a box will automatically pop up requesting permission for the mic to be used, click 'Allow' and the check box as below.
Finally check the audio on your device is not muted, usually displayed on your task bar with a line through the speaker icon.
Once these checks have been made, select the 'Joining Options' button again on the dashboard and if all checks are successful you can then join the conference using the Online option.
As an alternative joining method you can still join the conference via a phone with your conference ID.
